Triple Cheese, winner of the 2006 KVR Developer Challenge, is a truly unique freeware synthesizer. No traditional oscillators or wavetables, no FM or phase distortion and no analogue modelled filters hither. A touch unusual and a little cheesy, Triple Cheese is quite capable of some surprising sounds.

The current version of Avid's toolkit for edifice AAX plug-ins is non compatible with the Apple SDK needed to build plug-ins for Apple's new ARM/M1 processors. We are therefore not able to provide updated AAX versions on macOS, neither for Intel CPUs, nor for Apple tree M1. Sound generation

Triple Cheese avoids classic synthesis techniques—no subtractive, frequency modulation (FM) or condiment synthesis. Rather, information technology employs various types of comb filter, frequently in series, to generate and modify audio. Think of the comb filters as very short chromatically tuned delays. Three modules are arranged in serial and either generate their ain audio, or process the output of the previous module.

The features for each module tin result in sounds that might seem a petty "cheesy" or retro (call back early 1980s digital synths). But when pushed, you volition notice Triple Cheese creates some surprisingly lush sounds.

For extra flavour, Triple Cheese comes with a pick of delay-based effects. Although basic, the essentials are covered: chorus, flanger, phaser, delay, or reverb. A special LFO with speed and depth controls can be used to give your audio extra move and warmth.

Some other way to add flavour: parameter modulation. Many of the key parameters in Triple Cheese can be modulated from a multifariousness of sources: Select one of the archetype operation controls (modwheel, velocity, pressure level, key follow etc.) or an automatic modulation source (envelope, LFO or Vibrator ).
